...but do I LOOK Fifty?

I sure hope not. I've been told that I don't look like I'm in my fifties. Sometimes I see pictures of former high school classmates and wonder if I look as old to them as they look to me. One thing is for sure: skin care over fifty is definitely different than it was in my 30s and even my 40s. I've tried a LOT of products, and these are the ones that worked for me. Maybe they will for you, too!

Foundation for Fifty

From the time I was in college, I was a regular, loyal, devoted fan of Clinique. Bonus time was my favorite time of the year! I used all of their products faithfully until one day, I'd say around the age of 45, my skin just didn't look the same any more. It didn't feel the same. I decided it was time to make a change. It took me a couple of years to realize that the heavier the foundation, the older I looked.

After much experimentation with expensive products, I started to work my way though the Target and WalMart selections. Nothing worked. It all made me look cakey and wrinkly. THEN I found this amazing product: Magic Minerals Airbrush foundation. I use it in the lightest shade possible. You can wear as much or as little as you want. It doesn't settle in your fine lines, and it lasts all day. Try it!

Finishing Powder is Key

I've read so many blogs and articles about NOT using powder after 40. I tried it. My make-up slid down my face, and by the end of the day, I was more than shiny. I was a mess. I also started breaking out in my early fifties. What the heck?! I thought I was over my teenage pimple days. But here I am...bumpy skin again. When I wear this finishing powder, I don't have that problem. My skin actually behaves better when I dust a bit of this neutral powder on instead of going completely make-up free. You might think, "banana?" But it's really just a translucent finishing powder that I use on my face and around my eye make-up. It stays all day!
